I had a baby on 12-30-1999. Every since then When I bend down and get up from a bending position my knees feel like they are being streched. It is very painful. It does not hurt when I am walking just when bending. Please any advice would be appreciated

Answer:
Sometimes, the hormones involved with pregnancy can cause joint or ligament laxity. It is very difficult to know whether that could be the source of your pain. There may be an internal derangement or injury to the structures in the knee, but that is unlikely without a history of trauma. If the knee swells, you should have it evaluated by a doctor. In the meanwhile, rest, ice, elevation and possibly compression may help. No medication should be taken without the permission of your doctor.
