East Rutheford, NJ (AP) New Jersey Nets forward Scott Burrell underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his right knee on Tuesday, the team announced.
The surgery was performed at Beth Israel Medical Center North in New York by team orthopedist Dr. Michael Kelly, and involved the removal of loose bodies, as well as repairing a torn lateral meniscus.
Burrell, who had similar surgery on his left knee and left hand on April 27, will begin a three-month rehabilitation on both knees, general manager John Nash said. His hand was operated on to repair ligament damage, and will remain immobilized for the next two weeks.
The 6-foot-7 Burrell appeared in 74 games this season, averaging 6.1 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. The seven-year NBA veteran will be a free agent this summer.
