    Jags Place Boselli on IR

    January 06, 2000

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Tackle Tony Boselli's season officially ended Tuesday when the Jacksonville Jaguars placed him on injured reserve.

Boselli tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee Sunday. He'll have surgery soon and will then begin a five- to seven-month rehabilitation process.

The Jaguars are expected to fill Boselli's roster spot this week. They open the playoffs Jan. 15 against the Titans, Bills or Dolphins.

MRI results on right tackle Leon Searcy came back and indicated no significant damage to the ankle he sprained Sunday.

``Just wear and tear, pretty much,' coach Tom Coughlin said.

Searcy has said he plans to be back for the playoff game.
