EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -- New Jersey Nets center Gheorghe Muresan underwent surgery to repair a tear in the cartilage of his left knee and will be out at least eight weeks.The 7-foot-7 Muresan has averaged just over 2 points per game in 16 appearances this season. The Nets signed him as a free agent in August.
The team placed Muresan on the injured list Wednesday and reactivated center Michael Cage, who spent five games on the injured list with a lower back strain.
