I have severe arthritis and my doctor recommends an Arthrodesis, or joint fusion. Does anyone know anything about this procedure?

I am in the process of possibly having my knee fused. Can anyone share with me any info...pros/cons...anything you can share would be much appreciated.

hidan i am waiting to have th eprocess done in september. basically they will chop the bone around the knee and take most of the knee away and will put a lot of metal plates and screws in to make the leg straight and over time the bones will fuse together, i think they leave the metal work in. i would love to keep in touch with you via email my email is michelle.molyneux@gmail.com
