Hello, i am 16 years old and about 6 weeks ago i injured my knee while wakeboarding. I came down from a trick with the majority of my body weight on my right leg while it was pretty straight out.

The MRI showed it was a low grade partial tear. At first, my doctor suggested surgery, but i came back a week later and he decided i could heal on my own. He basically just told me to bike and swim to strengthen it up, and to stay away from impact such as hopping the bike up a curb.

So i have been biking and swimming very often, and it is beginning to feel very strong. I rarely feel any pain. I have full range of motion, and i can stand with all my weight on the injured knee. I feel like i can run but i don't want to push it(I actually have once for a short time in the rain and it didn't hurt). A few days ago i did some very small jumps on the trampoline and felt no pain.

Should i go back to the doctor before i proceed in doing any of these things? If not, should i wait it out longer or should i begin doing some activities that do involve some impact?

Also, do you suggest i wear a knee brace when getting back into wakeboarding, trampolining, runnning, etc?

Thanks in advance.
-Blake
