Hi all!
First shot was 1/16 - it was a breeze, pretty much like any other shot you ever had.

Shot number two (1/23) was more uncomfortable, felt some burning, and pressure. Something like a Cortasone shot only like 1/2 as bad.

A couple of things I didn't see in other postings - It is my left knee so the shots are going into the outside of my knee even though the microfracture is on the innerthigh side. The os said the whole knee is interconnected so it doesn't matter which side they use, however, the outside portion tends to be less sensative so the needle part of the shot is less painful from that side. Topical pain reliever was rubbed on first. Also, I have had a scope done so finding where the shot should go to be most effective is easy, they use the scar marks from the surgery as their guide. I was sitting up with my legs hanging over the side of the table.

Don't stop using your Motrin to see how good the shot may be working, it will cause swelling and you will get hollered at for having fluid on your knee for shot #2!

Don't expect immediate results...some people get them, but, it can take 6 to 8 weeks from the last sot to see any real relief.

My PT has me on a pretty light schedule - 1/2 hour walking in the pool, 3 streching exercises and ice.

I'll post again after my 3rd shot 1/30.

Happy Knees to everyone! Terrie
