I have Backer's cyct that from a fall has been very painfull and since the swelling it caused the cyct that blew up saturday when I bent down and it felt as though my whole knee blow up. The pain was so bad I almost passed out vut since my son was with me and had to drive me to the hospital I tried to keep it together even though I wanted to scream and cry. Blood pressure was high but I was told because of th pain that was understanable. They did nothing for me but wrap it and sent me home telling me that since I was seeing a surgeon on thursday I would get answers. Nice huh. The next day my leg has swollen down to my toes my doctor said due to the cyct breaking all the fluid caused b urning and ran down the leg now I just need to stay off and keep ice packs and pain medication. Do I have any idea when this will heal or get my life back? No! The MRI shows arthrist and I have never broekn a bone in my life nore really hurt myself except for the fall Sept 3 I'm 53 otherwise healthy3 and really didn't hurt till many weeks later. Doctor thinks I did tear something too to cause all this. I hear good and bad things about surgery so scared. I love to work in the yard and play on my knees with the kids but can't bend the knee or get on that knee. You really don't want the knee to blow up it is so painful. Now why didn't the hospital see that that it was backer's cyct that day. I wanted a shot in the knee to help the pain, sorry they said we can't do this. Scary now days when you think going to the ER will help when they do nothing but over charge the patient.'

Does anyone suffer from a Baker's Cyst? Mine was discovered 6 years ago during an MRI which also indicated a torn meniscus. I had the torn meniscus removed and after time the cyst for the most part didn't cause a problem. A few weeks ago I was exercising my knee which caused the cyst to swell. A shot of cortisone in the knee has helped but I still have the discomfort of the cyst. Ice and elevation has helped. Has anyone has any synvic injections which has helped this problem? Has anyone tried any other home treatment for a cyst? The doctor said arthritis in the knee caused the cyst to flare up.
