I have been experiencing a chronic postero-medial pain in both knees. It starts when I do any kind of leg exercises (e.g.squats,leg-presses)even without weights or any kind of resistance and even doing it very lightly or after a long walk. I have been diagnosed with pes anserinus tendonitis.I have already done flexibility, strengthening and ultrasound but nothing seems to cure it.Which would be your suggestion? Thank you very much for your attention. Daniel.

I too have pes anserinus bursitis/tendonitis. I was just diagnosed with the condition. I'd had persistent pain in my left knee for 4 months before I sought treatment. Before seeing the doctor, I tried rest, ice, heat, stretching...nothing worked, the pain still was present. After seeing the doctor, he prescribed me the same treatment I've been trying on my own!!! Ice treatment and stretching exercises. I'm very frustrated. I've heard of a treatment called "prolotherapy" which claims to cure pes anserinus bursitis. I'm tempted to try it...it's got to work better than the traditional treatments....

I have had prolotherapy on my left knee. After an injury in 1995...and years of doctors who didn't help at all, and lots of different therapies (magnet therapy, tape therapy, physical therapy, high friction therapy etc.) ...nothing helped. Finally, I found Dr. Hauser in Chicago...he did prolotherapy on my knee (pain on inside of left knee...just below knee cap upon hamstring contraction). After 4 sets of shots by him, and then another 10 or so from a Dr. in Vegas (I moved there), my knee pain went away. It was a miracle. For three years I was fine. Then, recently, I re-injured it...due to not strengthening my muscles...I am going through more shots again in California. I believe in prolotherapy and definitely recommend it!!!
