If you have ever suffered from a knee injury that seemed to be untreatable by conventional doctors, you might consider turning to a different type of doctor. Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine specialize in a treatment called manipulative therarpy in which their hands are used to move parts of the patient's body into proper positions. The overall focus of the practice is a wholistic, mind-body approach to healing. These physicians go through a similar training to MD's with the exception of learning some alternative healing techniques to perscription drugs. To learn more about osteopathic medicine, or to locate a physician go to the American Osteopathic Association website: www.osteopathic.org.
