I am 56. I was a long distance runner up until 2 years
ago when after trying to get up from a squat the lateral side of
my right knee was very painful. Xrays confirmed mild OA. My OS
suspected a lateral meniscus tear but the MRI as read by the
radiologist only showed a worn meniscus. So I have switched to
swimming which is fine. However, I am still experiencing swelling
and some pain. My OS has just tried one more cortisone shot before
we decide to scope my knee. He is being cautious since a "tear" was not easily visible, although he says they don't always show up
on MRI and if it is my OA surgery is not an option. My knee does not lock sometimes it clicks and might sort of catch. What should
I do?-Is it worth having him scope it or am I making things worse?
