My knees have been giving me problems for a couple of years now and a few days ago I twisted and felt an electric like shock just behind my right knee. I couldn't put weight on it for about 30 seconds or so and then I iced it. I was still giving me problems the following day so I went to the GP. She did X-rays but I haven't been able to get the results. There was no swelling, but it hurts and today it has starting hurting even more and I have been having calf pain just below the back of my knee. I am impatient and have an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon on Tuesday but was wondering if anyone could should any light on this for me? I like to go to my appointments with a little information on what could be wrong.

I just received my referral for the orthopedic surgeron. She listed the following:

Antalgic gait
Crepitus
Patellofermoral Pain
Medial right knee pain
Soft tissue tenderness over bilateral patellar tendon
Negative drawer sign
collateral ligaments intact
negative Lachman sign
