I will be seeking my own GP's care on this issue but wanted to know if anyone else thought this sounded like a meniscus tear.
I've been running for about 6 months now with the hopes of completing the OBX marathon in NC. About three weeks ago I felt a burning sensation in my right calf (there's every possibility this isn't related to the knee) that radiates to the inside of my right knee. Rest and ice (and a Advil) seem to help the knee but it feels weak and there are audible clicks and pops (without pain) and some buckling though relatively little pain when walking - just after running. After a day or two of rest the knee usually feels fine until I return to running. The pain in the calf is immediate and by the end of the run my knee is again throbbing. There is no visible swelling or bruising to either the knee or calf.
As I said, I'm headed to my GP as soon as I return from a quick biz trip but am confused and frustrated by this nagging injury that keeps pushing my training schedule back.
