Hey Liana I was wondering It sounds like I have the same problem that you have the therapist told me that I have weak muscles in the inner part of my thigh. That do not pull back when the other side decides to pull, so then it leads to knee dislocations and are very painful because they happen at anytime and sometimes I fall down flights of stairs along with on ice or a slippery area. I'd really appreciate it if you could tell me somethings you have done. I am going to have surgery but I doubt it will do anything because they are going to be working on my knee area and not my inner thigh muscles or anything. Each time my knee pops out I am afraid that I will jar it really bad possibly breaking my leg all together. And now my left leg is also starting to do the same as the other having to compensate for the weakness of the other. Also When I lift my leg out straight when sitting with weights on my ankles my leg bends slightly to the one side when pulling it up then goes straight like something is out of alignment. Please help me out.

Hi, can you give a bit more info? What surgery have you had done? Have you tried any other treatments? How long have you had trouble with your knees? Do you have other loose ligaments? (besides your knees) In what circumstances do they usually dislocate (I assume they dislocate because of the laxity you describe)? There are different kinds of surgery available. There are also lots of exercises to strengthen your quad VMO muscles (inner thigh), which should at help. Balancing exercises may also help. I also have loose ligaments, which contribute to knee problems, primarily recurrent kneecap dislocation. I have had surgery - lateral release, arthroscopy and tibial tubercle transfer. I am currently having physiotherapy (PT) and hydrotherapy (PT in water). I have a small support brace which I wear for about half a day most days, and whenever there is any increased risk. I am now nine months post injury (been on crutches six times for dislocations, but had many many more dislocations that required minimal intervention). Please reply back to this post or to me directly and I'll tell you what I can that may help (but I need to know more about your history first).

Local doctor says, worst knees he's seen in years. I have undergone knee surgery for knee stabilization, but the ligaments elasticity reoccurred. Knees slide all the way to outside of leg. I've been told nothing can help unless possibly we move bone in leg to align with knees. Any experiences like this?
