I'm 19 years old and injured my knee playing hockey. The doctor I saw ordered an MRI which showed that i tore my PCL. He suggested that I start physical therapy to try to strengthen everything around my knee to "solve" the problem. To leave it alone. Everyone I talk to tells me that this doctor is "the best". He is the team doctor for a local university's football team, and I trust his judgement. I'm four and a half weeks into physical therapy and I'm seeing my knee condition worsen. The swelling under my knee cap area is increasing, my range of motion is decreasing, and my pain level is at an all time high. I've read interviews and stories telling me that PCL injuries are better to be treated than left alone, but also have seen that it is a dangerous surgery. I'm in serious need of advice. I see my doctor again in a week and a half and I'm very nervous about my knee. Thanks in advance for anyone who can help me with my decision.
