Its me again! I couldn't stand to wait until the 9th September to see my Orthopeadic again with being in so much pain, so I went Monday 26th August. I just need to point out that I have been wearing a Knee brace since I did my injury on the 13th July. Any way, the Doc. said that surgery at this point is out of the question due to me still being extremely inflammed. He told me to stop going to PT as it was doing me more damage than good. He gave me a Novocaine shot in my knee joint along following a Depo-Medrol shot in the same place. He prescribed me Lidocaine Patches which I wear 12hrs on, 12hrs off. That isn't numbing the area as the pain is still extremely intense and I have very limited use of my left knee. I can't walk for 5 minutes without the pain increasing very dramatically. Since the Depo-Medrol shot, I have had bad headaches, back pain and a rash appeared on my arm. So once again I go back to the Doctors office to let him know if these are possible side affects as the research I have done doesn't seem to give positive results on that particular medication, to be blunt people are questioning why it is still on the market. Panic attack...oh yes I am as my Doctor didn't even come out to talk to me, just told the receptionist to have me come back tomorrow if the conditions has not changed. So tomorrow I am going to see another Orthopeadic Doctor to get a second opinion, what I should have done long ago. But I am very curious if any one here knows anything about Depo-Medrol or known side affects?

On 7/13/02 I was standing on a 6ft ladder painting my daughters bedroom and I fell off and landing on my Left Knee. I had bruised instantly and suffered extreme pain. Cutting the story short, I have since been taking Lortab{pain medication} on a daily basis for the past 5 weeks and I was on Bextra {inflamatory meds}for 3 weeks, in which Bextra did not help bring down the swelling at all. My Orthopedic Doctor stated he didn't see anything *too significant* in either my X-Rays or MRI. However stated that when I raise my left leg, it does not appear to be straight. He suggested I attend PT twice a week and said when I see him again on 9/9/02 that if nothing has changed then he will need to preform Arthoscopic Surgery. My PT believes I had sprained my Capitular Ligament and for 2 weeks was only doing the Heating Ultrasounds due to my knee being inflamed and me suffering intense pain. He has now given me 3 Dexamethasone along with Steriods procedures. He puts the mixture on a med pad in which has probes in the pad, it then gets hooked up to a Phoresor 11 machine {looks like I am being charged like a battery}. The machine runs for 30 mins, while the dose is set for 60.0 and the current level is set to 2.5 Any higher than that I was suffering extreme sharp pains. He has attempted twice now to put me on a Knee PT Machine, but I suffer greatly during and after I am done. I am becoming short tempered as he wants me to use the knee machine as he felt on my first visit with him that I do not need surgery, but I can't tolerate the pain I suffer for 2 days after leaving his office. I have been in pain now constanly for 5 weeks, on a daily basis. I can't walk for 5 minutes without feeling like my knee needs to explode. When I talk to my PT he seems now he doesn't understand why I have so much pain due to me taking the Bextra, using heating ultrasounds and resorting to having Dexamethasone/steroid treatments. Curious here if any one has any suggestions or comments.
