Is there anyone out there who has experienced patella removal and is doing well. My daughter has severe patella dislocation and sublexation. She is usually braced and both petellas are never in place when she sits or lies down. Even in braces they pop to the side and remain there until she manually adjusts them. This used to be extremely painful but occurs so frequently that the extreme pain only occurs when she stretches them beyond their daily sublexation. She manually adjusts them when she stands up and begins to walk and frequently falls when they randomly sublex. Stairs are a real challenge but she manages them by adjusting her patellas as she goes up. She has been braced and in psysio since 3 years old and is now 17. She has no grooves left and the patella is worn smooth. No one has wanted to do surgery due to her Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, even though her knees are the only joints she has severe issues. Any thoughts would be welcome.
