Hello everyone, I am a 42 year old female who in December of 09 tore my ACL while hunting quail. After several doctor visits to my primary care physician I had a MRI done. The results of that showed only 20% of the cartilage left on the inside of my left knee along with the torn ACL. After seeing two surgeons I elected to have a HTO on top of replacing my ACL done since I was too young for a TKR. The surgeon I chose told me to drop 40 lbs before he would do the procedure, I took it a step further and dropped 65 lbs. I have been non weight bearing for 8 weeks, and was told to start putting 25% weight at 9 weeks and 50% at 10 weeks and so on. Now at 10 weeks, I had a second follow up with x-rays and was told to stop increasing the weight and stay at 50% for another month. I look at this as a minor set back. Although it would have been nice to get rid of the crutches soon. Don't have any health questions, but would like to hear from anyone else who has had this procedure, and their experiences.

thanks
