bdywrker,

Hi again. Vic549 is correct. That is what I was given to take with the pain meds and it worked very well for me.

Good luck,

Nick

Hi Bdwkr,

The doc can give you PHENAGRAN to take for the nausea with your Pecocet.
I took Percocet for several months after my BKTR.

I tried everything and the only thing that worked was the Fentyl patch they say
it lasts 3 days...but it does not last that long. Believe me.

I have currently been on Oxycodone...not Oxycontin and it helps more than
anything. They can give you PHENAGRAN for the nausea...I took this along
with my Percocet when I came home.

Hope this helps. Vlc Vicki

bdywrker,

I too have a terrible time with pain meds and nausea. You should ask you OS if you haven't already for some meds for nausea that you can take with the pain meds. That is what my OS did and it worked out well. I can't remember what I was given, I am at work not at home where the meds are but it did wonders for eliminating the nausea. I was on Oxycotin and perocet after my bitkr and then on vicodin after a few weeks to get through PT and my head felt like it was going to explode so they gave me this anti nausea pill, actually half a pill, and it worked. I will try to remember to get the name of the med and write back with it tomorrow night.

Hang in there.

Nick

Hi BdyWrker, Yes, the best pain coverage I have ever had was from a pain patch called Fentenal. It worked when none of the others even came close. Some doctors are reluctant to use it, but it doesn't hurt to ask - especially so close to surgery. You might try asking for it and I wish you luck.

I am one week out from my second TKR and am having a terrible time with pain control and nausea. Has anyone else used anything besides percocet, vicodin, MS contin, Oxycontin ETC?
