I have just finished reading a very good article on DesMoinesRegister.com in which a doctor explaines the process of total knee replacement surgery, the recovery, and how makingthe choice to have this surgery may be very beneficial for improving a patient's quality of life.
Written by Doctor William Boulden, the article begins:
"Whenever I talk to patients about knee-replacement surgery, I tell them to consider two things: the level of pain and their quality of life. Many times, you can control pain by changing what you do in life - sitting around more and participating in activities less. But that means you might miss out on the things you enjoy most in life.
At some point, the pain becomes so severe that your quality of life suffers. If you want to get rid of the pain and stay active, you might need a total knee replacement."
