You should try knee pain treatment by knee exercises and Yoga very effectively. You should take help of a good physician.

Sorry to hear your Mom is having such a tough time. Has she tried hot/cold compresses? This might help relax the tension in her knees and dull the pain a bit. Also does she exercise regularly? If she is not getting 30 minutes of exercise a day the pain could be caused by muscle weakness from lack of exercise. If the heat works, you could have her try some light activity like quadriceps, hamstring and calf stretches once a day, working up to twice a day. You could also follow this up with some other light lower body exercise, although it may take a few weeks to work up to that. Doing stretches and light exercises may make her knees feel more sore before they get better (keep using the compresses!), but could get her back to living a normal lifestyle in the long run.

I'm writing about my mom who is 63. She has had pain in her knees since the 80's. Somedays the pain would be so bad it would literally make her passout. After numerous visits, scans and such with docters, she let it go and dealt with the pain. I have recently been on her to go back to the docters....which she has been doing. So far we have had x-rays re-done. The x-rays show NO arthritis at all. Our next step is trying to get another MRI. She get's the pain quite often and it prevents her from sitting too long, walking to much and even sleeping. Her knees always feel ice cold and when the pain gets at it's worse, it hurts terribly to touch them. She says the pain is right around the front of the kneecap to about 1" above and below. When it's hurting so bad, she can't even think. Ibuprofen and aspercreme barely take the edge off the pain. She was in an accident around 89' and fell down a 100 ft embankment (drunk). She broke her wrist in 6 places and was heavily medicated for that for weeks.....It's been soo long ago, she can't remember if thats when the pain started or not...just and fyi.....Any suggestions would be so greatly appreciated.
