It sounds to me like an inflamed bursa sac, but I would definitely go to the doctor to make sure it isn't a cartilage/meniscus problem that is causing your knee to hang/lock.

Oh no! I hope you're feeling better now, but regardless, you should schedule a quick visit to your doctor or the hospital.

Right now, your description isn't specific enough to help narrow down what the problem might be. It may be a torn meniscus or Chrondromalacia Patellae, but you should check with your doctor.

On Sunday I went for a long 4-5 hour car ride in the back seat of a very cramped car. Because of the position of my seat, my kneels were bent up towards my body at a higher angle than they would normally have been when riding in the back seat of a car. When I exited the car, I felt a slight twinge in my right knee. However, it was barley a pain and nothing that restricted me.

Monday, I noticed the soreness growing slightly, but again, nothing of any real issue.

Tuesday night I went to the batting cages for about two 2 hours. As I laid down in bed that night my knee now had a noticeable pain. But, again, I still had function.

Today (Wednesday) I woke up at 4am in pain and unable to bend my knee. I've spent the day today hoping around on one foot as I'm unable to bend my leg any further FORWARD or BACKWARDS without IMMENSES pain. So basically, it's stuck in an L shape (or 45 degree angle).

I'm not sure how serious this is as it didn't seem to come on me all at once. I'm also avoiding going to the hospital like the plague. I'm using hot baths to soak followed by ICEY-HOT knee patches to follow.

Any of this sound familiar to anyone? Any thoughts?

Thanks!
