I would get a second opinion, I injured my knee at work last may, nothing showed up on the MRI, the report came back clear. The surgeon questioned the report saying that I presented with a meniscus tear and scheduled surgery. To both our surprise when he went in the articular cartilage on the back side of the knee cap was cracked. He told me that MRI's are only 80% accurate.

I could really use some advice. I have had sharp pains going through my knee for about three weeks now. I twisted the wrong way ( no popping sound that I can remember) and now the sharp pain and a burning sensation. Had an MRI done and it came back negative. So now my OS says it is all in my head and nothing is wrong and should go on with daily activities. So why does my knee swell ever time I do any type of physical activity?? Am I crazy?? A MRI should be accurate and maybe everything is fine and I am having "ghost" pains or something like that.
