I am just trying to gage community interest in a new high-tech knee injury prevention product that will employ embedded microelectronicmechanical sensors with rfid tags in an outerwear wearable knee brace
that will mitigate and prevent acl, pcl, acl, and lcl injuries. These sensors will also provide real-time monitoring of the internal knee ligaments, muscle and bone as well via mobile network.
The device will respond to threats even before the wearer is aware of the danger and react instantly.
My question is: would a system like this be something that people would be willing to pay a few extra dollars more for knee injury protection if it actually prevents these types of strains and tears?
We are in the pre-design phase. The research and development is to be done by a major university engineering research group.
Please provide constructive feedback.
Thanks!
