pain back of knee

ran up two steps at once in a hurry 2months ago, popping pain back of right knee on r side of anterior knee followed by pain and swelling. walked on r tip toe for while, and took coated asp. now pain considerably improved but soreness in injury site after extended walking and also some shin pain on left. the knee pain is on the inside edge of the sharp feeling bone right at the bend of the knee
