I dislocated my knee on June 6, went to the ER, got an X-rays & a MRI, saw a supposed "knee specialist", went to physical therapy for about 1 1/2 months, and I still cannot fully bend my knee, climb or descend stairs normally and experience random pain, especially when it rains. It has been 3 months, which I believe is way too long for a dislocation to heal. I too believe I was misdiagnosed. I am 30 years old and have had a few dislocations in my past but never as bad as this. I have no medical coverage and have had to foot the above expenses out of pocket, and I can't afford any more. The MRI stated that I had something called "A subchondral cyst in the lateral tibial plataeux" Does anyone know what that means? Is this curable? Thanks.

I fell from a ladder July 6 and landed on my left knee. I have been seeing a Physical Therapist since August 1. At first I could bear no weight on the knee. It has improved, but I am still concerned about several things. I still have swelling that does not get better or worse. Ice makes the pain worse. When I hyperextend it back it still causes lots of pain. I have only about 105 degrees of movement when I bend it. Sometimes it just aches-doesn't matter what I'm doing. I am in the military health system and am concerned that they just don't want to spend the money for other treatment. How long is too long for the swelling and pain to continue, and would an MRI show where the damage is? I feel they are treating it without a diagnosis. They tell me what it isn't, but no one tells me what it is. I have only seen the emergency room physician, a PA, and the Therapist. Thank you for any advice you may have.
