If you're going to use this doctor again I would talk to him about pain medication *before* your next surgery. I've never heard of anyone getting muscles relaxers after arthoscopic surgery. I have always been given Lortab or Percocet. Expecially important the first night when the hospital drugs have worn off. I can imagine you must have been in serious pain.

I have had two knee surgerys in the past. Both knees were scraped for arthris, minescus tear on each, cyst on each, a hole the size of a fifty cent piece in the right knee from arthritis and a loose body stuck in the muscle behind my right knee. I want to know is it standard practice to give only muscle relaxors for pain. I was in excurtiating pain after the second surgery. I lay and screamed all night. We called the doctor and he said the pain would be better in the morning. I was in excurtiating pain for about 18 hours. I am about to have a partial knee replacement. I love this doctor and believe in him. I would like a little help. I made appointment with another doctor to get pain medication before I go to surgery. I am not willing to endure this type of pain after this type of surgery. This scares the hell out of me. I guess I don't know what to do. I usually talk to an assistant not the doctor. I have not had the chance to ask the doctor any questions. I feel strange. Others have told me to switch doctors or get a second opinon. Do all orthopedic surgeons not talk to their patients? Do they not perscribe pain meds? Just not sure, help?
