Hey Phymyxt,

What did your doc. say about stabilizing your patella? Is basketball in the cards? Esp now that the BB season is in full swing...! NYAGP

I would be seeing my doctor tomorrow to make sure everything is fine before i play...If I come across a good knee brace I would definitely post it up! Thanks alot Notyetagolfpro!

Phymyxt, if you love basketball, don't give it up! However, you should asl your doctor if there's a good knee brace that would really lock your patella in place while you play. if not, then you might have to consider surgery- Here's a useful discussion about surgical options for basketball players with dislocated patellas that you might want to review.

BTW, if you do find a good patella-stabilizing brace, please post about it- I personally would like to know as likely would many others on this board-

Well, I dislocated my patellar 2 years ago and I got immediate treatment. I thought it was better after 6 months and the doctor even said I could continue playing basketball...however,i dislocated it again, since then, i stopped playing basketball to rehabilate.now its almost 1 year already, and I am thinking of starting to play basketball again, but I'm afraid I would dislocate my patellar again. Is it possible for me to play again?
