Hi... I had the same problem and ignored it for two years... my x-rays and mri's went from okay to very bad, very fast. Lots of fissures and cysts on and under my patella. I had no choice but to have chondroplasty to help relieve the pain. I am two weeks post-op and getting back to low-impact exercises, high impact is not possible for me now. So please don't ignore your knee, get help right away. I was told that if I ignored mine any longer a kneecap replacement would have come sooner than later. Good luck!

I think you should take some time off, and give that knee some rest, RICE principal. Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. That knee is telling u it is tired and ready to take a bit of a break, and other problems you need to see your family physican so he/she can refer you back to the Orthopeadist for further evaluation. Good Luck, I hope this helps

am 14 and have played sports heavily since i was four years old, fall winter and spring. lately i have had extreme knee pain and was diagnosed with a minor case of chondromalacia patellae. at the time, the pain was minor, but since then it has gotten much worse. it hurts whenever i put pressure on my knee or after streuous activity. soccer season has ended and i have started to run every day, but at this point my knee is throbbing by the time i hit 1 mile. i usually like to do at least 3 miles a day. my knee has only ever given out on me once, but almost always has a dull pain. i have a knee brace to wear when i play soccer, but it doesnt really help all that much. what should i do? any insight is appreciated.
