I'm answering my own question 2 years later because I love the product I have found. Pro-tec patellar tendon strap. Great, I will wear one until I die.

Hey, just saw your post, and thought I might have a lead for you. I just looked at cho-pat.com, and they have a new version of their patellar strap that goes above and below the knee. If you're getting relief from the old one, maybe the new one won't slide off. Hope that helps. Brad

Hi, I'm a (former) runner still recovering from a lateral release (7 mos ago), with chondromalacia in both knees. I'm trying to protect my "good" knee from further cartilage damage, and have had luck in relieving pain with Chopat straps; however, the straps do not stay up during exercise! I'm trying to start running again, and I was wondering if anyone had luck with any product for pain under the kneecap, specifically any of those under the knee straps that WORKED. What brand? Where do I get it? Thanks!
