hi I wanted some feedback on chrondomalacia patellae/ fracture. My husband recently hurt his knee at work , he builds bridges and is always bending over tying steel and other jobs. Anyway he went to the doctors and they gave him an mri they said it was a meniscus tear and where it was located they needed to do surgery in order for it to heal. When they did the surgery and were in there grinding the tear it came to thier attention that he had fracture in the bone= chrondomalacaia fracture. A few weeks after surgery it still hurts actually worse than what it did. He still has a hard time walking steps, he can barely bend it. He goes to therapy for it and it still hurts. They were trying to send him back to work but i dont see how with the pain he is in. He always been active, jogging, martial arts etc.Now not only cant he work he cant do theese things he once enjoyed. the doctor told him it could take up to 4 months or more to heal. So iI dont get why they would want to send him back to work. Anyway does anyone know how long this pain could last for, will it ever improve. He's been in physical therapy for about 4weeks now and its not seeming to help. The docor even made the comment that the surgery may have made it worse since it wasnt just a meniscus tear. They wanted to give him a cortizone shot but we heard they may have bad side effects. if anyone could email me back or send me some websites i would appreciate it thank you.
