The whole point of this forum is to draw your own conclusions from other peoples experiences------Most people agree that Modern Orthopedic Science is an expensive alternative -----------which in the long run in most cases does NOT work ! In fact---Indirectly- the reason you are here is because somewhere inside of your instincts you know surgery is BAD---and in most cases benefits the Surgeon for more than the patient.
With that said you must make your own decisions---and not look to others to make them for you-----but I am in big believer in self education---so with that said refer to these websites www.iagh.com, www.arthritisusa.net, www.getprolo.com (Dr. Hauser-Chicago,Dr. Darrow-LA) and for something that will blow your mind and has been used on animals (in Canada) for over 25 years--and works for OA check out www.pentosesugar.com----(Note when you read this you must ask yourself if this medication is legal in so many countries on animals----and in some countries on people--------------WHY HAS IT BEEN KEPT OUT OF THE US & CANADA ? (Injectable form ---Pills do not work for Osteo)

what does surgery with a block mean? As a new forum member I don't know what to believe. I see three distinct groups of patients all attacking each other and defending their doctor. It's really hard to make sense of it all.

Marie,
I get iagh injections into my right hip from a doctor in Albuquerque NM. He also injects glucosamine along with procaine and (I think) vitamin B-12 along with an irritant. The irritant is to cause a natural inflammatory reaction to aid in the healing response (this comes from the theory behind a treatment methodology called prolotherapy). I have had 4 sets of injections thus far (aprox 4-5 weeks apart). Each set is administered in the same session where a set consists of one iagh injection and two glucosamine injections (along with the other components I mentioned). I have had some improvement. I started out (with stage III osteoarthritis) with very little range of motion (rom) for internal rotation (7 degrees); now I have about 25. My external rotation rom has gone from about 20 to around 35 degrees. My pain is significantly less. I was a triathlete (but now I'm not running); so try to be quite active. I do bicycle (6 days a week) about 70-80 miles per week (less than I used to do) but restrict myself to biking on fairly flat terrain (my dr. advised that). I swim as well. I so a little of what is called 'roller skiing' (wheels needed) right now also (x-c skiing on pavement ). I intend to get at least 10 of these treatments and if I'm still improving I will get more. It takes a long time and a lot of patience, but I think it's well worth it. If I had an artificial hip I would have to forget ever running again; with iagh there is hope. Of course cartilage regrowth using stem cell techniques is not far off.

It seems most of your patients are for knees. How many hips have you done and what was the best results you've had to date.It would be nice to know what a patient of yours gain in additional years after getting treated. Are these injections giving under x-ray to the hip area. Will someone who has had this done to their hip reply
