I'm not sure what I have on my hands here...about a week ago (with no noticeable injury), I noticed my right knee began to swell. It doesn't hurt at all, but I can feel the difference when I am moving my knee and thus have been using RICE therapy. It's been a week now, though, and I haven't seen any progress. Does this sound like Bursitis symptoms to anyone else? The majority of the swelling is in the lower, outside region of my knee. I thought maybe it was an inflamed tendon, but I'm not up on my knee anatomy. Does anyone else have any ideas? I have a doc. appt. tomorrow to see.

I have multiple problems in both knees.Because of my knee pain I have done a lot of research. I might be able to help you. First, why do you think you have bursitis and describe the pain in detail.I have patellar tendonitis in both knees with a touch of bursitis in left knee. I have done 'rice', physical therapy, (ultrasound therapy and electro therapy, stretching and quad/hamstring building)low energy photon therapy all with minimal improvement. I am now going to try shockwave therapy.

I was diagnosed first with bursitis. Had two cortisone shots. They worked for awhile, but the pain came back. Now, I am on Osteo Bi-Flex, which is doing lots of good. I walk without pain. There is only one spot that has a dull pain. Plan to have that knee scanned

PLEASE: If you can offer any first hand, personal experiences E-MAIL ME ASAP. Here is the short version of my saga:I am a 16 year old female. I used to run alot and work out.I've had horrible bursitis in the inner part of my knees for a year now....Things have gotten so bad walking around the house is a challenge. Here is a list of what I've tried: •RICE •Physio (twice!) •Antiflamitories (like ibuprofen, or prescribed stuff like naprosen) •accupuncture •seen a rhemuotologist-if it was arthritis •massage therapy •bone scan (no fractures or anything) You name it, I've done it. Today the sports doctor said there is basically nothing he can do for me but refer me to an orthopedic specialist. In two weeks if I am still bad he will try a cortisone shot. My question is....has anyone had a cortisone shot for their knee?If so did it provide permanent or only short-term relief? Or, if you had a similar problem, what did you do?? I BEG YOU TO EMAIL ME!! I am getting very depressed and can't take it much longer!!
