Wow it seems me and your son are in the same boat, im 19 and i have had 3 knee operations. I have 10 peices of bone and cartilage torn out and floating around in my knee. I hurt my knee in march of last year and i had my op in oct. Recovery time is all about the rehab and making sure your son doesnt get depressed about inactivity. Keeping it positive will make him recover much faster.
