Wow it seems me and your son are in the same boat, im 19 and i have had 3 knee operations. I have 10 peices of bone and cartilage torn out and floating around in my knee. I hurt my knee in march of last year and i had my op in oct. Recovery time is all about the rehab and making sure your son doesnt get depressed about inactivity. Keeping it positive will make him recover much faster. With my knee it was the biggest carticel procedure that my doctors have ever done so im sure his knee is in better shape than mine and im getting redy to play college soccer in oct. so just tell him to stick with it and keep trucking because im in the same boat like all of us. If he needs some more information on what to do contact me. Thanks Trevor Scott
