I've had two Carticel implants. Recovery is lengthy and certainly a test of patience and perserverance. The key in both was constant use of the CPM.... go over what they tell you as this seemed to alleviate pain within the first few weeks. Pay attention to your Dr. and therapist and don't go overboard... I made the mistake on the first one and broke off a piece of the implant rendering the treatment 90% unsuccessful. It's a solid year before you're able to resume most of your pre-operative activities. Good luck and be patient!
