well i had my meniscectomy on 10/19/07 then had my aci on 12/21/07 and as of right now i still haven't gone back to work, but hopefully by next week i can start part-time...my job requires me to be active working with patients so i have to be in pretty good shape before returning. i too am an avid athlete and can't wait to get back to powerlifting. i recovered really quickly after the arthoscope, less than a week, but this one is taking sometime, especially since i've had a number of surgeries this is the longest and most pain. how is is ur recovery since u'll be only a few weeks post op?? i think the worst part for me is the non-wt bearing and doing nothing....too boring. hopefully ur doing better than me.

I had a meniscectomy on 9/14/07, and my surgeon discovered a lesion- and I'm scheduled for ACI on 1/15/08. So far, I've had no insurance problems (already approved), but I'm dreading the rehab procedure. I've been an athlete my whole life, and I'm actually a pretty tough guy. I've never really had any problems with pain following my surgeries, but I am absolutely scared over this procedure. I'm in a lot of pain right now, and I'm having some problems walking. My right knee feels tight and tender.

Well, let me end my rambling. Does anyone have any good ACI stories, or even some horror stories? I want to go into this procedure and rehab well-informed of what to expect. What are the first few days post-op like? When do you go back to work? What aspects of daily living are most affected? I appreciate any help, and wish all of you a speedy and complete recovery.
