I hd TKR on May 11 and a few weeks later the doc went back performed the procedure that allows the knee to bend when it is kind of stuck. All went well and I was released from PT with no problems. Then this past Fri, I began having what I call a contraction that begins at the ankle, tightens all the way to the knee and when it stops, it feels like a knife is being driven into the knee.
I have a good pain tolerance but this is non-stop and the tightenng comes every 20 seconds. I was taking percocet 2 every 6 hours and the hospital just suggested to move that to every 4 hours to avoid allowing the pain to get a grip on me. I had to go sit in ER for 5 hours. No blood clot. Lucky for me the spasms came along and the doc could see and feel them. MY BP was 187 over 77 which is very hgh for me. They said the anxiety of the pain makes it go up. I am exhausted. Any info will be helpful!
I sometimes feel like my doc's staff feel like I am trying to gt more pain med .Not so! It doesn't work that great and makes me sick. It does take the edge off tho.
If anyone knows about the manipulation and pain that follows, please let me know!
