hey lynda22,
ive been advised as well for surgery, if you play sports alot and remain to be active its highly recommended by most professionals (just my 2cents). GET psyhsical therapy (PT as we like to call it) to help get the motion back to normal. however when playing, itll feel wierd, even discomfort, since the ACL is torn. you can still play w/ a brace for support. how long ago since you tore your ACL? can you walk alright?
i hope this helps. i tore mine about 4 and half months back and waiting for surgery. sooner the better i have to say.

Hi Lynda,

I am having a hip replacement in January and have been in mortal pain for over a year.
I limp now, as one leg is longer than the other.
I love to play golf but had to fall out after a few holes.
My sister in law has had two operations on her knee, she took hydrocodone for the pain and
gave me one. I managed a whole round of golf!! and will carry on taking them now until my
operation. I use this site because you get a proper doctor consultation.

You will probably need an operation in the end, but till then, why be in pain,

See you on the golf course,
JTO

I have been advised that I need surgery on my left knee to have it replaced. Is there any other option if I cannot put my foot down on the floor?
