Have had similar problems X 4 years, progressively worse with time. I thought for a long time it was a nerve problem, and still don't know. I had back problems and thought nerve involvement from the back was the contributing factor, but I'm now 3 months post lumbar fusion and still have the knee problems. Please post back if you get a good diagnosis.

I'm experiencing a sharp recurrent right knee pain that lasts 3 to 4 seconds, and repeats about every 30 seconds. The condition started yesterday and has continued for the past 24 hours, and it doesn't appear to be triggered by any kind of knee movement. I don't recall any type of injury or circumstance that might cause this. I'm guessing that it is nerve related. Does anyone have any experience with this type of knee pain condition ?
