I'm 24 years old and been fighting with knee pain for years. Now I'm asking, how fast can scar tissue grow back (In Plica Syndrome)? I was first diagnosed with plica syndrome when I was 15. First knee was operated when I was 18, the other when I was 19. The years in between were somewhat better, but then in March 2004 the pain came back. Then both of my knees were operated at the same time in April 2004. Some short periods of pain have followed after the surgery, but they have passed on their own. Only that now the pain has lasted several weeks again. Now I've been diagnosed with Chondromalacia Patellate as well, when I went to see an orthopaedist. There are commong things between Plica Syndrome and Chondromalacia Patellae and I wonder if one caused the other. There could be some link. Now my question is, how fast can those plicas actually come back? Scar tissue develops, but how fast? Can it be back in just 8 months?! I'm really desperate in this, so if any of you have had it sometime before, please feel free to share your knowledge!
