I know this was posted years ago but i'm wondeing how youmade out? I had acl replacement done 3 mos. ago, a manipulation and arthoscopy done since. My hamstrings are firing all of the time and yes, it is very painful. My pt therapist is going crazy along with me. I don't know what to do next.

I must say I had severe pain in my hamstring but I had a hamstring graft so it was expected. I am not sure why your hamstring being tight would limit your flexion.......if anything it would limit your extension.

Do you have a hot tub or access to one? The jets on your hamstring might feel good. I have an idea for you but someone would think I am trying to sell you somethin so if you want, email me at chellekaynva@hotmail.com and we can discuss it! lol ( I can explain later!)

Don't lose hope though....there is light at the end of the tunnel!

I had ACL reconstruction 6 weeks ago to date. I had the patellar tendon graft along with a portion of my lateral meniscus removed due to a tear, and everything seems to be ok. The only problem I am having is my hamstring in my operative leg is so tight and painful that my knee will only bend slightly past 90 degrees thus far. My rehab trainer says this is not something to worry about, and that over time with work (such as massage and other painful remedies) it will loosen and allow my motion to improve. It is VERY painful to have the massage and trigger point pressue work. It's awfully frustrating and I was wondering if anyone else had this problem. My trainer assures me with work it will be ok but I'm getting nervous that maybe this isn't working. As I said, it's painful...probably the most painful thing I've experienced this entire time.

Any thoughs? I'm in need of support.
