It sounds positive that you're still able to walk and I think you've done the right thing going back to the brace temporarily as well as booking in at the quack's straight away.
If it was really bad perhaps the knee would be exhibiting more indication of trauma. That said, I doubt the injury would manifest in the same way a usual (unreconstructed) ACL might, purely because the graft may not have had a chance to take - I think to vasohomogenise (is this the right word - who knows??) takes around 6-10 weeks
I think only an MRI will tell you for sure if there's been any problem at this stage. I'm pretty sure at 3 months your surgeon can usually gauge stability compared to before, but I'd be wanting to discuss it with my surgeon rather than any doctor if you're seriously concerned.
Good luck

Hi JReed03,
Really, only your doctor can say what exactly happened. However, I think if you retore your ACL, your knee/leg would be extremely swollen and you wouldn't be able to walk period. Sounds like a bruise- but only your doctor when he/she examines you can tell for sure. Good luck healing! NYAGP

I had ACL recunstruction surgery October 7th and PT has been going very well. Over the weekend I slipt and fell on some ice. The weight from my body landed on my knee that had surgery done on it. I am able to walk with out my brace fine(but I put it back on). The back of my knee/top of my hamstring is very sore. This happened on Saturday and I am still having soreness behind the knee and swelling in the front. Should I be concerned about re tearing my acl? Is this just an aggrivation of the new ligament and a strain of the hamstring muscle?
I will be seeing my Dr tomorrow morning, but am just a little concerned.
