First, go to a different othropedic Dr for a second opinion. One that is a specialist in sports medicine. It could be scar tissue or it could be incorrect placement of the acl graft. It is true that you should be able to extend your knee straight (maybe even -5 or -10 degrees). I had the same surgery as you to include the menisectomy 9 days ago and I am able to got to -5 degrees to 110 degrees range of motion (ROM). However, everyone heals differently and the only way to ease your mind, in my opinion, is assurance and validation from a different ortho specialist. Hope this helps! Scott

I'm about 4.5 months post ACL Surgery (along with a meniscectomy) and everything has gone great except for one issue. I can't get my full extension back no matter what I do. The only possibility that gets told to me is scar tissue and I can accept that it might likely be that, but is there other possibilities? I followed my Dr's and PT's orders from Day 1 and this has been an issue from the start. I've been telling them from the beginning that it just feels like my knee does not fit back together right when I try and straighten it and that is there just feel likes something blocking the way and/or not lining up correctly. Does scar tissue develop that quickly where it would be an immediate issue or could I be experiencing something else (or now maybe have a scar tissue problem on top of something else)? My flexion has not been an issue at all, only extension and I've spent 10's of hours in the prone hang position since my surgery in September. It has not been from a lack of effort. I just recently started doing agility drills and have been doing medium pace jogging now for a few weeks and have had no problems doing these or any of my rehab so far, but I am mentally struggling looking down each day at my knees and seeing one stick out much further than the other. I also worry this is going to hinder me when I try and return to full speed. Anyone with a possible answer or similar story?
