knee replaced..oh my God!
Hi, I am a 55 yr.old R.N. who while doing a
role play at my job was knocked down and had
a torn cartilege. After 3 mo. of inj., and therapy,Simvasc (?) cortisone and 3 knee taps , I was told a TKR was the option. I had arthritis,never diagnosed and had much pain and limping. Jan.04 I had the total knee, and in March had a "manipulation" for scar tissue to try and improve my range of motion. 3 weeks ago they swithed the "plastic" or the pad in the knee to 1 smaller size. My range went from 95 degrees to about 114 or so. I'm still in lots of pain getting up or down from a sitting position, but walking is good. What a mess this had been. I have always been extremely active and now I am going down stairs like an 80 yr. old! I became more depressed with the oxycontin and Percocet so now I am only on Celebrex. I am determined to beat this thing if it kills me...Denise
