knee swelling and pain after a fall Hello All, I fell of my road bike a few weeks ago, landing hard on the area just below my kneecap on the anterior portion of my leg. I was able to ride, and continue to be able to ride my cycle virtually pain free, but that is about all that is pain free. Hiking caused severe swelling for days, kneeling is IMPOSSIBLE. There is no instability at all, and I can walk--lots of ibuprofen dull the pain, but don't remove it. I have a large bump on what I think is the tendon joining the kneecap to the the tibia--about the size of an walnut,it is hard and painful if I push on it. I am heading to the doc, as now I am worried--the pain wakes me at night. Any ideas?
