COMMUNITY: Patient Stories

Gimp at 20

I was diagnosed with PFS two years ago, after about 6 years of intense exercise like swimming, running, and biking without any problems. After physical therapy, the pain went away for a year, and I stayed active and strong. Seven months ago, my knee hurt a bit and I rested but since then I´ve had reocurring pain on and off. I try to do pt but sometimes my knees hurt too much. Sometimes its because I walk too much, and sometimes I have pain for no reason at all, which frustrates me to no end. Its a frustrating cycle of feeling better and getting crippling pain. I´ve tried everything, I wear knee braces, do knee exercises, pilates, take antinflammatories, and take glucosamin chondrotin. Reading this site has helped me, and now my only hope is to try to be dedicated to pt, no matter what and stay optimistic. Write me if you have advice.
