My knee not completely fuised after 6 months

PATIENT NAME : KASHIF MUNIR Age : 24 male
The above named patient was admitted on 27th November 2000
He had been complaining of pain and swelling over his right knee for last 6-8 months- pain and swelling developed insidiously, on arthrscopic biopsy it was diagnosed to be tuberculous arthritis.
- At the time of admission his ESR was above 100 mm Hr . Other parameters were within normal limits.
- He was operated upon his right knee on 27th November 2000. At the time of operation after incision was given- 800 mls of pus poured out of joint with complete breakdown of articular Cartilage, the whole joint surface including medial lateral and patello fenoral component was denuded of articular cartilage.
- Thorough lavage was done of the knee joint.
- Bone graft was taken from the iliac Crest and placed in between the joint in view to have complete fusion of the knee joint.
- After 6 months of scotch Cast, there has been 80% bony union.
- He has started wt. Bearing and doing straight leg raising exercises.
- He has been advised to keep the Scotch Cast on for another 6-8 weeks.
