Miss

Hello to you all..I've finally found you!! I've been waiting for the day where I can read other people's stories and feel like I'm reading my own experiences!!! As for dislocating knee caps, non-traumatic, traumatic, whenever they feel like bl***y dislocating they do! I am 28 years old and since the age of 9 both my knee caps have dislocated laterally: though they could go medially but haven't - thank goodness!. I live in London and have lost count of the number of times that I've been to hospital because of my knees - including casualty; I've had my left leg in full leg plaster 3 times!! Knitting needle is a must!!! Reaches places nothing else can!! After the first 3 full plasters, as a young girl I refused to have anymore and taught myself to put my knee cap back!! The whole episode is unbelievably painful... Well I could go on all day but I wont, my problem is that two years ago I saw one of the top surgeons in the UK and had bilateral arthroscopies (which I would advise - but recovery.... yes painful, but my right knee was also recovering from a recent dislocation!! Great timing! The outcome of the op was they can do nothing for me.............. what a blow................ been devastated ever since. :-( Since the age of 9 I have not been able to do any sports activities, my last memory of running was a rounders match that my bro and I won!! I can only do non-impact excerise so I joined a gym, which is the only release I have as I run the risk that anything else will dislocate my knee caps. I run my life to limit the risk, I am aware that each step or twist could result with me on the floor screaming in pain..( with 2 weeks recovery) I have now got to the point where I feel quite depressed, all the jobs that i've done over the years have been poorly paid, and have left me unfulfilled. It would be lovely to hear about people like me and how it effects your life/job/having children/walking up a flight of stairs!! I feel naff and would love to hear from anyone. Please feel free to email me.
