ACL,Meniscus,MCL,PCL Fractured bone Hi my name is Adam, i am 15 years old. I played basketball for stevenson high school in illinois. Early May of 2004 i was playing basketball with some friends at my neighborhood park. I jumped up and landed with my knee twisted i heard a pop and i fell straight to the ground in pain. I tried standing up and walking but it hurt pretty bad. I went to the doc and he said torn mcl out for four weeks. Four weeks later i tore it again with more and greater damage or i might have tore it before the 1st time anyway i wsa diagnosed with acl, mcl, pcl, lateral and medial meniscus tears and fractured lining of the bone. I was told i need surgery. My surgery was on sept 1, 2004 - it was partially success they were able to only repair one meniscus. They used a hamstring graft for the acl. my surgery was 5 hours. I stayed in the hospital one night. My doc said i wouldnt be able to play ball again because my meniscus is so damaged. Does anybody have a story like this and came back to play basketball?
